Yesterday, artist Sean Ruttkay unveiled Hope, a 32 x 48-inch floating aluminum piece, commissioned as a deeply personal gift. Rendered in Ruttkay’s signature EDA Surf Art holographic water texture, the work radiates with light and movement—an oceanic metaphor for resilience and healing.

The piece was commissioned by PA, a lifelong surfer currently facing a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Introduced to Ruttkay’s work by his childhood best friend, Dr. Austin Yeargan, PA sought the presence of water in his home as a source of peace and perspective during this challenging time. The delivery of Hope was marked by emotional gravity—a moment that underscored the power of art to connect, uplift, and provide solace.

“Water reflects who we are and where we’re going,” says Ruttkay. “In giving Hope, we weren’t just hanging art—we were creating a window to something deeper.”
